First time shooting action shots in a training facility.
I was able to capture one of the most life changing moments for now Father Ivan Montelongo when he became a priest on June 19th with Bishop Mark Seitz and other Diocesan priests at St. Patricks Cathedral located downtown El Paso!
What a great privilege it is to be mentioned alongside some of my favorite Instagram peeps for sharing the good news through new media! Thank you so much Maddy Bass from Lifeteen! Finishing off 2019 and entering into the new year as an SLS20 Partner was nothing short of amazing. Every year Focus puts on a national conference transitioning between SEEK and SLS which brings in thousands of people and students to worship Christ and engage in community. SLS in particular is a week long conference that helps prepare the churches youth in becoming disciples in their local communities. This years mission statement was “You were made for mission”, and many of the speakers delivered a life altering message. Here are some of my favorite talks from the conference:
This is a post of appreciation. In 2019, I crossed paths with so many great people and I can’t express enough how grateful I am for this divine providence. Can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store!
Contributed an article to the November issue of the Rio Grande Catholic, titled In The World But of The World! You can read the short article here on page 12! : RIO GRANDE CATHOLIC NOVEMBER ISSUE
During the fall I was able to capture some beautiful shots of the reconstruction of El Paso’s U.S. 54 Loop 375, along with the new Texas Tech building. Some may see these photos as not interesting, but when a hundred years from now, you’ll be able to look back at these photos and partake in history. Incredible. Thank you Sundt!
In October of 2019, I was able to design a shirt for The Vigil Project music retreat, held in Nashville Tennessee! The whole concept was developed by John Finch and Shawn Williams, with their aspiration to reveal the verse inside of the numbers 2567, taken from from the Catechism of the Catholic Church which says “God calls man first. Man may forget his Creator or hide far from his face; he may run after idols or accuse the deity of having abandoned him; yet the living and true God tirelessly calls each person to that mysterious encounter known as prayer. In prayer, the faithful God's initiative of love always comes first; our own first step is always a response. As God gradually reveals himself and reveals man to himself, prayer appears as a reciprocal call, a covenant drama. Through words and actions, this drama engages the heart. It unfolds throughout the whole history of salvation.” (CCC: 2567)
This past fall I was able to do a quick design for a local retreat out of my home parish in El Paso. The theme for this particular men’s retreat was the prodigal son!
The Rio Grande Catholic added a new young adult column in their monthly issue in 2019 and I had the great privilege of being able to write on “Why the church needs her men.” You can read the entire article here on page 14! : RIO GRANDE CATHOLIC JULY ISSUE
Back in 2015,
I was given the amazing opportunity of being able to create and design a website for my home parish, St. Raphael in El Paso. The history behind this is that there was no online footprint for this church. I felt a little call and nudge to give my talents to the church and this amazing fruitful, connected, domain was created for parishioners to stay connected with their parish! STRAPHAELELPASO.COM
